Snow joke for newlyweds- but reception goes ahead

Getting a newly married couple to the reception on time became a priority for the Dormy House Hotel during the recent snowy weather, when tractors and a convoy of 4x4's were called on to get the bride, groom and wedding guests to their wedding breakfast.

Nestling under 2 feet of snow, the notorious Fish Hill in the Cotswolds on which the Dormy House sits proved too much for conventional means of transport so general manager David Field called on the support of The Estate team from Farncombe Estate to get newly-weds Rachel and Neil to their reception on time. Staff went to great lengths to get into work to provide the wedding guests with service as normal. The chefs put aside their knives and aprons and went outside to shovel the snow to start clearing the car park for all the guests.

Guests, who also abandoned their cars, were then transported in a convoy of 4x4's. The new Mr and Mrs Kentish pictured said "We were over the moon with what the Dormy House did for us".
